From September 6 to 11, 2026, the international Topcat community will gather for the Topcat Worlds 2026 in Cesenatico, Italy – one of the most beautiful and sailor-friendly venues on the Adriatic coast.

Together with the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV) and the Topcat Class, Circolo Vela Cesenatico invites you to an outstanding event combining top-level racing, Italian lifestyle and excellent organization.

🏕️ Camping & Motorhomes For all participants arriving with a motorhome, we have found a suitable solution:

The site has been personally inspected by the Worlds organizing team and offers everything you need: electric hook-ups, a barbecue area, seating, and modern new sanitary facilities.

📍 Location:

  • To the club: approx. 800 m – around 10 minutes on foot
  • To the center of Cesenatico: around 15 minutes on foot
  • A pizzeria is located directly opposite

This makes the campsite ideally located – quiet, yet still central.

👥 Community: We will try to accommodate all participants traveling by motorhome together, so that we can create a nice shared atmosphere.

💰 Prices:

  • Group rate (Worlds participants): €25 per night
  • Individual booking: €28 per night

To reserve the required number of spaces, we need to know how many campers will be coming. Please indicate under Service in your registration if you are arriving with a camper or van.

UPDATE - TOPCAT WORLDS Cesenatico 2026

Dear Topcat Worlds participants,

 

Together with Circolo Vela Cesenatico, we have made some adjustments to the schedule for our Worlds. This makes the event a little more streamlined and saves the club in Cesenatico a considerable amount of volunteer resources — something they urgently asked us to help with.

 

We will therefore start with the first races already on Sunday at noon (September 6, 2026), instead of holding the practice race. Racing will then continue until Wednesday (September 9, 2026), meaning we will sail four consecutive days of regatta. Only the traditional reserve day will be dropped. The scope of the evening events will not change — they will simply be scheduled a little closer together. The Notice of Race has already been corrected and contains all the details.

 

Naturally, we are not entirely happy about this. However, we also understand the club and its need to manage resources. Given the number of entries, we could not insist that the many volunteers take five working days off for us.

 

Nevertheless, we are still warmly invited to be guests of the club before and after the race days. This gives us the opportunity for a bit of fun sailing, training with the new champions, or even a nice coastal sailing trip.

Liebe Topcat-Worlds-Teilnehmer,

 

wir haben mit dem Circolo Vela Cesenatico etwas am Zeitplan unserer Worlds gedreht. Sie wird dadurch etwas straffer und spart erheblich ehrenamtliche Ressourcen beim Club in Cesenatico – worum wir von dort eindringlich gebeten wurden.

 

Wir beginnen deshalb schon am Sonntagmittag (06.09.2026) mit den ersten Wettfahrten - statt mit dem Practice Race. Die Wettfahrten gehen dann bis einschließlich Mittwoch (09.09.2026), so dass wir vier Tage am Stück Regatta segeln. Es entfällt lediglich der klassische Reservetag. Der Umfang der Abendveranstaltungen verändert sich dadurch nicht – sie liegen nur etwas dichter beieinander. Die „Notice of Race“ ist schon korrigiert – dort steht alles im Detail drin.

 

Wir sind naturgemäß nicht ganz glücklich darüber. Allerdings haben wir auch Verständnis für den Club und dessen Ressourcenmanagement. Angesichts der Zahl der Meldungen konnten wir nicht darauf bestehen, dass die zahlreichen freiwilligen Helfer sich für uns an fünf Werktagen Urlaub nehmen.

 

Allerdings sind wir nach wie vor herzlich dazu eingeladen, vor und nach den Wettfahrttagen Gäste des Clubs zu sein. Das eröffnet uns die Möglichkeit für die eine oder andere Runde Spaßsegeln, Training (mit den neuen Champions 😉) oder auch eine schöne Küstensegeltour.

Cari partecipanti ai Topcat Worlds,

 

Insieme al Circolo Vela Cesenatico abbiamo apportato alcune modifiche al programma dei nostri Worlds. In questo modo l’evento sarà un po’ più compatto e permetterà al club di Cesenatico di risparmiare in modo significativo risorse volontarie — una richiesta che ci è stata rivolta con insistenza.

 

Per questo motivo inizieremo già domenica a mezzogiorno (06/09/2026) con le prime regate, invece della practice race. Le regate proseguiranno poi fino a mercoledì 09/09/2026), quindi navigheremo per quattro giorni consecutivi. Viene eliminato soltanto il classico giorno di riserva. Il programma degli eventi serali non cambia nella sostanza — saranno semplicemente un po’ più ravvicinati. La Notice of Race è già stata corretta e contiene tutti i dettagli.

 

Naturalmente non ne siamo del tutto felici. Tuttavia comprendiamo anche il club e la sua necessità di gestire le risorse. Considerato il numero di iscrizioni, non potevamo pretendere che i molti volontari prendessero cinque giorni lavorativi di ferie per noi.

 

Resta comunque il fatto che siamo ancora cordialmente invitati a essere ospiti del club prima e dopo i giorni di regata. Questo ci offre la possibilità di fare qualche uscita di puro divertimento, allenamento con i nuovi campioni o anche una bella escursione a vela lungo la costa.

 

Non vediamo l’ora di vivere un bell’evento insieme a voi! Per domande sul nuovo programma potete rivolgervi tranquillamente a uno qualsiasi di noi.

Drodzy uczestnicy Topcat Worlds,

 

Razem z Circolo Vela Cesenatico nieco zmieniliśmy harmonogram naszych Worlds. Dzięki temu wydarzenie będzie trochę bardziej zwarte i pozwoli znacząco oszczędzić zasoby wolontariackie klubu w Cesenatico — o co klub bardzo nas prosił.

 

Dlatego pierwsze wyścigi rozpoczniemy już w niedzielę w południe (06.09.2026), zamiast wyścigu treningowego. Regaty potrwają następnie do środy (09.09.2026), czyli będziemy żeglować przez cztery dni z rzędu. Odpada jedynie klasyczny dzień rezerwowy. Zakres wydarzeń wieczornych się nie zmieni — będą one tylko zaplanowane nieco bliżej siebie. Notice of Race została już poprawiona i zawiera wszystkie szczegóły.

 

Naturalnie nie jesteśmy z tego całkowicie zadowoleni. Rozumiemy jednak klub i jego potrzebę zarządzania zasobami. Biorąc pod uwagę liczbę zgłoszeń, nie mogliśmy nalegać, aby liczni wolontariusze brali dla nas urlop na pięć dni roboczych.

 

Jednocześnie nadal jesteśmy serdecznie zaproszeni do klubu przed i po dniach wyścigowych. Daje nam to możliwość trochę pożeglować rekreacyjnie, potrenować z nowymi mistrzami albo wybrać się na piękną trasę wzdłuż wybrzeża.
